Micromake DIY Kossel Delta Auto leveling 3D Printer Kit

The Micromake linear guide rail slider can prevent from the slider off during the installation process. It is of high quality which can perform much more smooth than the other standard 3D printers.

The Main difference between Pulleys and Linear versions are the amount of maintenance, calibration and noise level has been advantageous metrics in linear version. Once the linear guides are installed you don't need to tight screws or check if something get too loose. Pulleys might need to be tightened up and could give you some punctual problems if you don't mount them properly

Linear guides have higher precision than pulleys, for two reasons:

Linear guides are metal-on-metal ball bearings, and therefore have very little backlash (slop) in the mechanism, whereas pulleys have rubber wheels that would add significant lateral play.

The aluminium verticals are not particularly stiff (especially on an XL extended height), which will add more play as the verticals flex during movement. Linear guides add extra stiffening with the steel base that is there in addition to the verticals - which will make the whole structure more rigid.

Worry Free Version:  Linear guide comes with 90% Assembled with 1Kg of PLA. Requires only few steps to complete

Highlights:

  All injection molding non-standard parts

  Black oxidation aluminum profile

  High performance control board

  Double air duct effector

Micromake Makeboard Heatbed with Power Supply - Add on

Makeboard Heatbed is a integrated heatbed solution specially designed for 3D printer with Delta structure. It perfectly fits with the bottom frame structure of printer with its equilateral hexagon shape. The Heatbed is compatible with Delta printer which use 24cm short aluminium profile. Using SMD thermistor, you don’t need to worry about the temperature sensing head off or the temperature is measured inaccurately because of gap. Adopting glass fiber high temperature resistant wire, avoiding short circuit caused by wire aging for a long time heating and peripheral insulator off. The heating wire and temperature sensing wire have been weld and 2pin XH has been plugged well. Come with matched high-power power supply, use pluggable terminal blocks, plug it into matched Makeboard control board and then you can use it conveniently. Use glass fiber material instead of aluminium board, double sided black copper cladding, which is matched with Micromake 3D printer perfectly. With careful designed location hole, you can fix black crystal panel on heatbed without binder clips. You can also get matched fixture as a gift

As the following picture, please plug red and black wires into corresponding terminal block of power supply according to specified color. Don’t expose metal parts of the wire. Please remember to cover the plastic protection cover after installation.Remember, be sure to cut off the power whenever you install and adjust power supply

Plug white heating wire into HEATBED terminal block and black temperature sensing wire into THERM B socket, without positive and negative distinction.Connect red and black wire of power supply with pluggable terminal block according to the order "Red wire above, black wire below". Then plug them into POWER socket. Please tighten up all screws of terminal block and ensure it has enough contact area with wire. Or the terminal block may be burned because of serious heating

Open Cura [Machine] menu, [Machine settings] dialog box, choose [Heated bed], click [OK] button. Then choose [Install default firmware] in [Machine] menu, upload firmware again then you can unlock heatbed function

Micromake does a very nice job with it's construction and packaging and ease of assembly. You shouldn't have a problem not putting it together. Once it's running, that's when you'll learn the kinks of the printer. The nozzle tends to ooze right before it prints, but once it's been running a while it's fine. The heated bed takes about 15 min. to reach full operating temperature. The version of Cura is a bit outdated so you have limited support material options. The auto leveling wizard does not always give repeatable results. I strongly recommend running a few leveling prints first then manually dialing it in and not changing it after that.

Very nice printer for the price. Kit was easy enough to assemble in about 6 hours, taking my time. Once you dial the settings in this printer can produce some really nice things. This was my first 3D Printer so I can't really compare it to much, but I can say that as a first printer I don't regret buying this one.

I ordered this kit, my first delta, from 3dprintersbay.com while waiting for my Prusa to ship. It was drop-shipped from HK and arrived quickly and in great shape. I was a little skeptical of finding the correctly subtitled videos because they're upgrading this thing ahead of any instructions. T-nuts have replaced the M5 nuts (thankfully) and the control board and it's mounting have been improved, as well. Still, it went together rather well and after calibration and just before I was about to make my first print, my Prusa arrived. So, a few weeks went by and this morning I got back to that first print. Perfect, as was the second. I'm now printing the Adalinda dragon (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:246198) and it's looking very good! I'm quite pleased with the print quality of this printer. It's a bit noisy, with several resonances I need to track down, but it's definitely worth the price.

It's a good decent delta kit is what you pay for. But the prints are fairly good and it was easy to assemble as the videos are good. Overall, it is good for personal and educational purpose.
