The french are the revolutionaries. Now, they have done revolution in educational 3D printing as well. Speaking in terms of the sexual frontier, the French are always ahead. So, this time they have brought out a largely forgotten sexual organ in focus. This organ relates to female sexuality and is known as Clitoris. A social medical french researcher Odile Fillod has brought this subject to light by creating a 3D printed model of the organ.

Educational 3D Printing In French Classrooms:

In September, this year, French students will start getting high-tech sex education as they discover the forgotten female organ. Clitoris has been printed exactly the way it is inside the female body. The male counterpart of this organ has its erectile tissue outside which is why it has got overshadowed. Since, the male part is easy to dissect and understand. But through this exact  3D printed version, Fillod feels that students will have a better understanding of Clitoris and female sexuality. This will make them realize that men and women have equal sexual organs.

Fillod said that once women have a mental image about what happens inside their bodies when they are aroused, they will start to experiment more freely.

The video shows how the 3D printed Clitoris was created using a virtual anatomic design. The original design was created on a paper with exact measurements and using historical scientific data.  At the end, the print was cooled as well as sanded to represent the original organ. It was printed using PLA plastic filament, however, other filaments can be used to print it.

In the future, more anatomic models using clitoris will be printed to show its position against the pelvis. These models will include the urethra, pelvic bones and vagina.  

Now, students can have a better and detailed understanding of the scientific and natural importance of Clitoris due to 3D printing.
